Arlington Stamped Concrete

There are certainly different ways that you can go about finishing concrete. Stamped concrete finishes are right up there as one of the most popular options. We feel that the reason why we tend to see this is because of the completely different looks that you’re able to achieve through a stamped concrete finish. In many ways it just opens up a new world of possibilities that you wouldn’t have with other methods. That doesn’t mean that you should always look to get a stamped concrete finish. We are going to be going over some of the main benefits that you can obtain from this type of finish. While also exploring our favorite surfaces to have stamped concrete on!

Why Stamped Concrete?

As people who work on these types of structures you’d think the projects would start to get a little dull after a while. You know it’s just a rinse and repeat process. We’d have to say though that our stamped concrete, and stained concrete services are the two that really keeps us on our toes. The designs that you’re able to create through this type of finish are basically endless. Most of them look great! There’s not much more to decipher.

Is This A Long Lasting Finish?

This certainly can be a long lasting finish. Now, we want to be really honest here with what we are about to say. Wear and tear on stamped concrete surfaces may start to show a bit earlier than it would on regular surfaces. Just because colors and textures can fade over time. Especially with excessive usage. So if you have a ton of trucks driving by your stamped concrete, yeah it’s going to show signs of wear much quicker than an area that doesn’t get that type of traffic. Still you can get 5, 10, 15 years out of a surface. Even more depending on the usage rate and other external factors.

Can You Use This Finish Anywhere?

Yes, of course. There is a sense that stamped concrete is for outdoors, and stained concrete is for indoors. That’s not necessarily accurate. It’s just that we may want to create a rougher surface outdoors where we use stamped concrete. With stained concrete you may want to go with something that is smoother. That’s why we tend to see those structures indoors. There’s essentially no set code or law that you have to follow in this regard.

Stamping Existing Concrete Surfaces

Can this be done? The short answer is yes. A better question may be if we can turn an existing design on its ear and make it look entirely different. To be honest that’s a maybe. There are a lot of factors that we are going to have to consider. These are all things, though, that we’d be more than happy to go over with you. If you don’t want a repair, but more of an upgrade of your existing stamped concrete surface we’ll walk you through the options that we feel may suit your situation best.
