Pool Decks

With all of the surfaces that we get a chance to work on whether it’s doing repairs, creating them from scratch or providing a major upgrade we love exploring all of the design options possible. There are just so many different types of looks that you can go for. Both our team and the client can spend hours on end getting creative. This is certainly great because it can help us produce all sorts of great looking structures. What we don’t want to lose sight of though is the functionality aspect, as well as the safety aspect. With pool decks safety is certainly something that we are going to want to keep at the forefront of the entire building process. 

Is Concrete A Good Material For Pool Decks?

There are people that almost reluctantly come to us after having a bad experience with a previous concrete pool deck setup. The reason that they probably come to us is that they realize that most other building materials struggle even worse than concrete in these areas. Those bad experiences though come from poorly setup pool decks that don’t take into account the challenges that the concrete surface truly has to be able to withstand. We understand the situation and plan accordingly to ensure that concrete is the best material for a pool deck. 

Great Looks Plus Safe Surface

These two things are essentially our main concern when we are building pool decks. We want to make sure that we are able to build a surface that isn’t super slippery when wet. This is something that folks with younger children really stress. We wouldn’t want older folks taking a fall either. At the same time we provide the same extended catalog of look and feel options for these surfaces. As we do with a driveway or just a basic patio. 

Restoring Aging Pool Decks

Again as we do with some of the other surfaces that we work on, the first step towards restoring an aging pool deck is providing a thorough evaluation of the surface. From there we are going to be able to give you a list of options on what we would recommend that you do. With certain pool decks minor repair work is all it takes to make sure the area essentially turns back time. In other cases we may recommend that you give us a chance to tear down and start over. 

Creating A Surface That Fits Well Into The Outdoor “Ecosystem” of The House

This is truly the goal that we have for these types of surfaces. The last thing that we want to do is disregard what’s already there with the excuse that we are only hired to do our job, and not worry about potentially making your gardener's life easier. At the end of the day if we are able to create a surface that fits well with what’s already there or other types of fixtures that you want to build around out our creation has a better shot of standing out.
